listen, DK Metcalf ran a 4.33! (fast) Julio Jones ran a 4.39 (still fast) and DK can bench more than Julio Jones... but Julio can run nice perfect routes and catch consisted passes. That's why I think Julio is one of the greatest ever. But people say DK doesn't have good hands yet he's making some of the hardest catches. And we have seen how much he's improved on his route running from last year! DK has all the talent that 86% of receivers don't have. This off-season is going to be huge. He will work on his flaws but DK Metcalf will shine next year! Just watch.

Overhated
Man they just love praising a young receiver who plays on a recently winning team. Seeing people compare him to Julio or Calvin Johnson is where it gets too far. In reality, hes not even a top 10 receiver yet. He has absolutely no diversity in his route tree, and inflates his numbers by catching passes from arguably the best deep ball thrower in the league. Why do you think the Eagles passed on him? Cause they knew that a guy like Wentz couldnt make those throws to Metcalf. Just because hes fast and strong doesnt mean that hes a top tier receiver. Things like his route running and hands arent mentioned cause it goes against that narrative.
@Mojerek for sure. My main point is that you cant consider him on the same level of the guys you mentioned just yet. There are currently over 10 receivers that im taking over Metcalf.
I agree, they make those comparisons simply based on physical traits, but Julio and Calvin are far more technically sound which sets them over the top with that physicality. But you also can't deny that with some coaching and few more years of experience, DK has the potential in the future to assert his name into that conversation only time will tell!
